The e-Innovation Centre has scooped two awards at this year's coveted West Midlands ICT Excellence Awards 2007.
The initiative, which was officially opened at an event in October 2007 to celebrate its success, was named winner of the ICT Excellence in Creative Partnerships category and in the night's only double individual category win, it was also successful as winner of the ICT Excellence in Public Sector ICT Projects category.
The £7 million e-Innovation Centre at the University’s Telford Campus was officially opened at a special ceremony to celebrate its success.
The e-Innovation Centre will be officially opened at an event celebrating its outstanding success on 10th October 2007.
Around 150 guests are expected to attend the event with John Edwards, Chief Executive of Advantage West Midlands leading guest speakers - who also include Prof Caroline Gipps, Vice Chancellor of the University of Wolverhampton and Pebble Learning from the e-IC.
e-Innovation Centre occupants, Pebble Learning have been voted runners up in the Association for Learning Technology '2007 Learning Technologist of the Year' Award.
The University of Wolverhampton's Diana Thompson, Business Director of the e-Innovation Centre was amongst the panel of four judges for the recent ‘Star Idea' competition, run by the Shropshire Star. Budding entrepreneurs were given an opportunity to present their ideas in a ‘Dragon's Den' format to the panel of four Shropshire Business Leaders.
